Interesting subject, I remember once on one server i was a constant 20 tenths down on the first split and spent many hours driving like a madman thinking I was losing touch. Joined another server and things were normal? I did all the checks wind, weather, time of day, checked fuel even. Just could not figure it out! too top it off both servers had lowish pings and i could lap better on high pinging servers too! In the end I ruled it off as mind playing tricks, (I dodge that server now its cursed!"
I dont know why people even want to put on the player hack it looks god awful.... does not even look like real arms! atleast the overalls and gloves have details!.
After a lengthy Qualifying session on XFG/XRG blackwood I qualified first whith a nice 1:33.50 or similar. Race starts adn while waiting for the lights to change I have a brainfart and forget which buttons on my joypad were the gears, luckly I found them on the green light... just the wrong one... So I sailed past the ranks in reverse and lets say I could not make up the lead I lost whilst apologising to the people I rammed. Any one else reversed on the start line by accident?
I know what you mean, with forces view I am not looking at the forces on the car. Its just like that when driving i need to see the steering wheel as I some times use the steering wheel as a guide to how far my wheels have turned. Its sort of subconcious I guess, similar to when you sort of glance at your speedometer without taking your eyes off the road for long (or is that just me?). Either way i have found my momentum again in cockpit view, but I must sayracing with wheels view really how much more of the track you can use where as you could not see in cockpit view. Also i believe this helped me get that little bit faster experimenting with that view.
Hello, I have been experimenting with some new custom views as to squeeze every inch out of my lap times and just wanted to know if something was possible.
I have grown to like the cockpit view with the Forces mode on (F Button) but found that it applies it to every car on the track. I would like this view but see the full body work off the otehr players? is this possible.
This is the view I want, but as you can see it applies to other drivers.
Bit of a late reply, but with the ltest patch i too have noticed my anolog stick on my logitech dual action pad is alot more sensative. I noticed the patch had reset some of my options but still my sticks were still sensative with my old settings. I also always had anolog smooth steer on maximum (0.90) maybe in the next patch lenthen this figure. i dont ride much on s2 but xfg on blackwood so i can cope for now. If anyone one firgures out how to lower the sensativity more please post
Glad to see some replys, I must admit though im not complaining about using a joypad since i shaved off about 2 seconds off my time when i upgraded from the keyboard. Im using a Logitech Dual Action pad with an un-tweaked partyboy setup of team inferno. I will have a mess around tweakinthe set and see if i can improve.
Ps, is there any joypad users here who can driver below a 31.40 on the first split with Xf gti on blackwood? If so did you have to edit any setups or just general technique aroudn that first corner?
I was just wondering if joypads acted just the same as keyboards in lfs? If so would the setups made for keyboard's be better than using setups made for steering wheels? so would keyboard setup threads such as http://www.lfsforum.net/showth ... mp;highlight=xrt+keyboard be any help to a joypad user? If not are there any joypad setup dedicated threads like this one?
Im asking these questions because i have seem to have hit a hotlapping brick wall which is driving me insane. I seem to be having trouble with the first split on Blackwood using the XF Gti. If i really push i can manage 31.55's but to my horror see other drivers calmly driver 31.20's and below.
No matter how much i practice this first split i cannot improve my time, it also seems this split was also a problem pre patch where i could only obtain a 31.25 on a good run. I have tried comparing other racer's replays but only find i cannot break and maintain the same control as them on this part of the track.
I am also using Team Inferno's setups and replays for the setups. I am wondering that if the setups were created for wheels would they affect joypad users?
Ps sorry for the long winded post but im sick of that first split! I left a replay of my best attempts, best lap is the last one about 6th(complete with crash on lap 7), any help is appreciated. MyHotLaps.spr
